This imaginative book is about a Siamese cat (Skippyjon Jones) who takes an  imaginative journey with some Mexican Chihuahua into ancient Egypt. Skippyjon has a wild imagination and when he is in time out he engages in exploration. The dialect is hilarious and the book will be enjoyed by children in 2nd grade.Children can be taught lessons on respect and cultural differences. Author: Amada Irma Perez

This book is about a little nine year old girl who shares a room with two of her brothers. She so desires to have a room of her own thinking she is just getting too old to be sharing. She looks in her family's two bedroom house and finds a place, a hidden plaece she thinks will serve as her own little space.
This is a muliticultural book that I would read with a 3rd and 4th grade class. Beautiful illustrations that show the love within a family.
